Maeghan Albiston

Maeghan Albiston is the Assistant Vice President of Investor Relations and Pensions at Canadian Pacific (CP). Prior to joining the Investor Relations team in 2011, Maeghan held various financial management roles with CP in the areas of financial analysis, corporate planning and treasury. In addition to leading the investor relations function, Maeghan also oversees the management of CP’s pension plans, including CP’s $13 billion defined benefit pension plan — one of the oldest and largest corporate pension plans in Canada. This combined role provides Maeghan with a unique perspective on the capital markets and strong ties to a variety of stakeholders across the investment industry.

During Maeghan’s tenure in investor relations, CP’s market cap has grown from $10 billion to over $50 billion. She has communicated CP’s strategy through major corporate events including a high profile proxy battle with an activist shareholder, the roll-out of a significant corporate turnaround plan, network acquisitions and divestments and executive transitions. CP’s IR team is regularly recognized by shareholders and professional associations for their transparent approach to communications. In 2020 Maeghan was named by Institutional Investor magazine to the All-Canada Executive Team as best IR Professional in the capital goods/industrials sector. The magazine also recognized CP for best IR program, best ESG reporting and best analyst day. CP was also recognized by IR Magazine in 2019 for 'Best Use of Technology and Social Media for IR' and named a 2018 Global TopGun Company for Transparency and Reporting by Brendan Wood International.

Stephanie Amaimo

Stephanie Amaimo joined Fortis Inc. in 2016. Previously, she worked at ITC Holdings Corp. (ITC) for more than 10 years where she held various roles in investor relations, treasury and financial planning and analysis. Stephanie was the Director of Investor Relations at the time of the Fortis acquisition of ITC.

She earned a Bachelor of Administration from The University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University.

Stephanie served on the Board of Directors for North Star Reach, a non-profit organization that offers life-changing camp experiences for children with serious health challenges and their families in 2016, 2017, 2018.

Jill Angevine
Managing Director

Jill Angevine is a Managing Director at Palisade Capital and a Corporate Board Director. She has over 25 years of professional experience in the investment management industry including portfolio management, capital markets and equity research.

Earlier in her career, Jill gained extensive experience on both the sell-side and buy-side of capital markets as a Director of Institutional Research at FirstEnergy Capital Corp. and later as a Portfolio Manager with a Calgary asset management firm.

Jill is a graduate of the University of Calgary (B.Comm) and has earned the Chartered Accountant (CA), the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) designations. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Tourmaline Oil Corp., and is the past Chair of the Board of a junior oil & gas company.

Jill is actively involved on the Boards of a number of not-for-profit organizations where she volunteers her time in the community, specifically related to education and investment management.

Ben Ashwell

Ben Ashwell is the editor at IR Magazine and Corporate Secretary, covering investor relations, governance, risk and compliance. Prior to this, he was the founder and editor of Executive Talent, the global quarterly magazine from the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants. Before moving to the US, Ben was the vice president and editor at Executive Grapevine, overseeing a daily news website, ten annual supplements and HR Grapevine, the UK’s leading HR and talent management magazine. In 2019, Ben was named in NIRI’s inaugural 40 Under 40 class.

Rhylin Bailie

Rhylin Bailie has been the Vice President of Investor Relations for Equinox Gold since October 2016. From July 2011 to October 2016, Rhylin managed all aspects of investor relations for a number of resource companies including Southern Arc Minerals, Eagle Hill Exploration and Sandspring Resources. Previously Rhylin was Director of Investor Relations for NovaGold Resources from 2006 to 2011, and prior to that held various positions in the Treasury group at Placer Dome from 1995 to 2006. Rhylin is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree. She is a director on the National Board of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute.

Prabh Banga

Prabh Banga is a sustainability strategist with over 10 years of experience embedding sustainability into corporations. She has led the development and execution of sustainability strategies, providing a framework for corporations to make decisions that balance economic, environmental, and social responsibility in a way that drives business value.

Currently, Prabh is the Director of Sustainability with Aecon Group Inc., where she leads the development and delivery of Aecon’s sustainability strategy. Her key responsibilities include integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG), identifying future trends, emerging technologies and operationalizing sustainability into day-to-day practices.

Prior to joining Aecon, Prabh was the Associate Director, Strategy & Sustainability at Toronto Pearson International Airport, where she was ranked Top 40 under 40 in North America by Airport Business for integrating sustainability as a value driver into airport operations and management. Prabh has a Master of Resource and Environmental Management and undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies. Prabh is currently serving as the North American representative on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Stakeholder Council as well as Research associate with the National Academy of Sciences.

Camilla Bartosiewicz

She is an award-winning investor relations (IR) executive with over 12 years of experience in implementing strategic IR programs for publicly traded issuers, including special situations communications around mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, equity and debt offerings, restructurings, executive transitions, business model transitions, and crisis situations.

Camilla has established relationships with a number of global financial institutions and serves as corporate spokesperson and first point of contact with shareholders, financial analysts and the broader investment community. Frederic Bastien

Frederic Bastien joined Raymond James Ltd. in 2003. He is a well-respected equity analyst, achieving Brendan Wood International’s annual TopGun status on a consistent basis. Frederic primarily focuses on the infrastructure and construction sector, but recently expanded his coverage universe to include power and utility stocks.

He also acts as Treasurer and Board Director for Vancouver Phoenix Gymnastics, a not-for-profit organization with over 2,500 members.

Frederic holds an MBA from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Meghan Brown

Meghan Brown is an investor relations professional with a 25-year track record in the resource sector. She is currently Vice President, Investor Relations for Vancouver-based Great Panther Mining, an intermediate gold producer with mines in Brazil and Mexico.

Previously, Meghan was Vice President, Investor Relations with Leagold Mining Corporation until its sale to Equinox Gold in March 2020. Meghan started her career with Suncor Energy and has worked for a number of resource and mining companies including TransCanada, Placer Dome and Endeavour Silver. In 2019, she received the IR Award of Excellence from the Canadian Investor Relations Institute in recognition of her contributions to the investor relations profession in Canada.

Meghan has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Institute of Corporate Directors Not-for-Profit Directors’ Education Program. She holds a BA from University of Brotish Columbia and an MBA from Queen’s University and is Chair of the Board of the Canadian Cancer Society BC/Yukon.

Paul Butcher

Paul Butcher joined CN in 1993, initially working as a project officer in Financial Planning before moving to Marketing in 1999, serving in the Revenue Planning, Metals and Minerals, as well as Intermodal groups. He was involved in key growth projects at CN such as the new container port at the Port of Prince Rupert, among others. Prior to his most recent appointment, Paul had been Senior Manager of Investor Relations since November 2009.

Before joining CN, Mr. Butcher worked two years as an economist in Ottawa at Informetrica Limited.

He holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Economics from the University of Montreal.

Patrick Bryden

Patrick Bryden joined Scotiabank GBM in Calgary in 2010 and has worked in the securities industry since 1997. Patrick became Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research in 2020 and previously ranked first nine times in the annual Brendan Wood International and Greenwich Associates institutional surveys as an energy analyst. He served on the Natural Gas Expert Group for the Alberta Royalty Review and advised the Province of Alberta on the calibration of its Modernized Royalty Framework. Patrick has raised more than $145,000 for the Movember Foundation and Ovarian Cancer Canada in his time at Scotiabank GBM. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Calgary and was awarded the CFA designation in 2001.

Prior to rejoining OMERS in 2019, Adelaide was a portfolio manager at Mackenzie Investments, one of Canada’s largest independent asset management firms, where she was also a member of the Responsible Investment Committee, overseeing the firm’s sustainable investing strategy, and its integration within her team’s portfolios.

Prior to working on the buy-side, Adelaide held progressive roles at BMO Capital Markets within Equity Research. She is a CFA charterholder and earned her Chartered Professional Accountant designation, CPA, CA at PwC. She also holds the FSA (Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting) Credential Level I and is a member of the Responsible Investment Association (RiA) Toronto working group, a network of investment professionals focused on adopting responsible investing into investment management.

The team engages companies and others in the investment stewardship ecosystem to promote the governance and business practices aligned with long-term value creation by the companies in which BlackRock invests on behalf of clients. Michelle is responsible globally for institutional relations, policy on investment stewardship issues and communications related to BlackRock’s investment stewardship perspectives and activities. Sara Elford

Sara Elford worked in the capital markets industry for more than twenty years, beginning her career in investment banking in New York in 1994. She became a sell-side equity research analyst in Canada in 1995 and continued in this capacity until 2015 when she decided it was time for something new. Over the course of her analyst career, Sara followed a broad range of industries and business models, with specific, but not exclusive, focus on emerging companies, technologies and/or sectors. Mariem Elsayed

Mariem Elsayed joined Fiera Capital in 2018 to oversee the investor relations function. Prior to joining Fiera Capital, she held roles in investor relations at Énergir, Resolute Forest Products and Aimia. Mariem has held various positions over the course of her career including roles in investment banking, treasury operations, project management and investor relations.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montréal, an MBA from McGill University and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder. Mariem is currently the Chair of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute’s Québec Chapter and has served as a Director since 2015. She was also on the Board of the CFA Montreal Society from 2015 to 2019.

Damian Fernandes

Damian Fernandes joined TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) in June 2012. In addition, he is also leads the ESG efforts for the Fundamental Equity Team and is Chair of the TDAM ESG Engagement Committee.

Damian started his career in 2004 on the Proprietary Investment desk of a prominent Canadian financial services company and subsequently moved to managing U.S. Equity and Tactical Asset Allocation funds for the company's asset management division. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charterholder.

Eleanor Fritz

Eleanor Fritz was Director of Compliance & Disclosure at Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) before retiring in December 2016. In this role, she managed the department responsible for ensuring issuer compliance with TSX requirements related to continued listing, timely disclosure, corporate governance and director and officer suitability. During her 27-year career at TSX, she held various positions involving listed issuers from a regulatory, business development and relationship management perspective.

She currently sits on the Board of Governors for the University of Guelph and serves as their Chair of the Governance and Human Resources Committee, she also serves as Co-chair of the Issues Committee of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and previously sat on the Continuous Disclosure Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission, was a member of the Sustainability Working Group of the World Federation of Exchanges and the Ontario Chapter Executive of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Russ Girling

Russ Girling has been President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TC Energy since July 1, 2010. He has led the company through a period of unprecedented growth, including the development of its Liquids Pipelines business, expansion of its power generation portfolio and the successful US$13 billion acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group in July 2016.

Previously, Russ held the positions of Chief Operating Officer; President, Pipelines; Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development; Chief Financial Officer; and Executive Vice-President, Power. Prior to joining TC Energy in 1994, Russ held several marketing and management positions at Suncor Inc., Northridge Petroleum Marketing and Dome Petroleum.

Russ is currently a director of Nutrien Ltd., the American Petroleum Institute and the Business Council of Canada. He is a member of the Business Council of Alberta, the U.S. National Petroleum Council and the U.S. Business Roundtable. He is the former Chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, former Chairman of the Natural Gas Council and former director of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association. He has also served as Chairman and CEO of TC PipeLines GP, Inc. (general partner of TC PipeLines, LP), Chairman of TransCanada Power, L.P. and director of Bruce Power Inc.

Russ co-chaired the 2012 United Way of Calgary Campaign and is a director of the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic. He was a 1998/1999 recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award for leadership excellence for Canadians under the age of 40. In 2008, he was the recipient of the Haskayne School of Business Management Alumni Excellence (MAX) Award. Russ holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Calgary.

Tom Graham

Tom Graham is the Director, Corporate Finance of the Alberta Securities Commission and manages a team of accountants, lawyers, geologists, engineers and other professionals. In this role, he oversees the regulatory framework for securities offerings, compliance, and policy development.

Prior to joining the ASC in 2006, Tom was the Director, Listings at the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). At the TSX, Tom was responsible for the application of the TSX Corporate Finance Rules and Listing requirements, as well as overseeing the TSX Listings Committee. Tom has also held progressive positions with the TSX Venture Exchange (and predecessor Alberta Stock Exchange), Ernst & Young and Coopers Lybrand, which included a secondment to the ASC.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Calgary and a member of the CPA.

Lisa Greatrix is a seasoned Finance Executive with extensive experience in managing diverse groups and initiatives in multiple disciplines including finance, customer support and operations.

As Senior Vice-President, Finance and Investor Relations at Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC), Lisa and her team directly support CTC’s Board of Directors, CFO and CEO. In her role, Lisa oversees investor relations strategies and programs and also manages relationships with the investor and analyst communities.

Lisa joined Canadian Tire in 2007 as Vice-President, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. During this time, she acted as a trusted advisor to senior management, supported the creation of CT REIT and played a key role in creating a sustainable financial framework. Throughout her career at CTC, she has set strategies and inspired change that has made CTC home to some of the best practices in financial planning and analysis.

Prior to joining Canadian Tire, Lisa held senior positions at MDS, Research in Motion and Xerox Canada. Lisa is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from York University. She has also completed the Queen’s Executive Program.

Rachel Guthrie is the Head of ESG Reporting and Impact Measurement at TD Bank Group. Rachel has overseen the annual production of TD's Corporate Responsibility report since 2009, helping navigate TD's disclosure through GRI standards and materiality assessments. Rachel's team is also responsible for the development of TD's social and environmental impact measurement framework and the development of ESG policies and position statements.

Originally from the U.K., Rachel completed her undergrad at St. Andrews University in Scotland and returned to school mid-career for a Certificate in Corporate Responsibility from St. Michael's College in Toronto. She volunteers with Ski Patrol Canada during the winter months and enjoys backcountry camping and canoeing in the summer.

Peter Haynes joined TD Securities (TDSI) in June, 1995. Today, he heads up TDSI’s Index Products team, a top-ranked group responsible for index and market structure research. In addition, Peter handles relationship management for a few key Ontario-based institutional investors, and manages TD Securities Client Relations Committee. Previously at TDSI, Peter was responsible for equity derivatives sales and portfolio trading.

Prior to joining TDSI, Peter worked for one year in Montreal with Credit Lyonnais Canada, marketing global equity derivatives to Canadian investors. Before Credit Lyonnais, he started his career at the Toronto Stock Exchange, spending six years in their index and derivatives marketing department, involved in both retail and institutional efforts to develop the listed Canadian index products and equity derivatives business. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Peter is a member of S&P’s U.S., Canadian and Global Index Advisory Panels.

Monica Moretto is a seasoned Social Engagement professional with more than 25 years experience in communications and social responsibility. She holds a BA in Communications from Argentina, as well as a designation as a Corporate Social Responsibility professional, CSR-P, and Conflict Resolution training from the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Monica has been with Pan American Silver Corp. (PAS) for the past 11 years, specializing in stakeholder engagement, the development of social programs and alternative social-economic development.

During her tenure with PAS, Monica created and developed a Corporate Social Responsibility department for this organization that has now become a well-recognized program among the industry. In addition to developing this department, Monica regularly travels to remote mining communities throughout Latin and South America developing relationships with workers and their families and community members, creating opportunities for dialogue in a participatory way, including industry leaders and international NGOs.

As a result of first-hand experience with local communities, Monica has developed a passion for championing women’s rights, not only abroad but in corporate North America as well. Monica actively participates as a Board member of Woman in Mining BC and Women Who Rock Canada. Monica has been the recipient of the highly regarded Award in Social and Environmental Responsibility from the Association of Mineral Exploration of British Columbia.

Mukani Moyo
Expert Associate Partner
McKinsey & Company

 

Mukani Moyo is an Expert Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Basic Materials Practice, based in Toronto. He serves mining clients around the world on a range of topics, primarily in operations, procurement, capital productivity, and strategy. His work focuses on helping mining companies successfully deliver large-scale performance transformations, safely improving productivity and financial performance.

He is a lead author of McKinsey’s research on productivity in the mining industry, captured in the MineLens Productivity Index (MPI). Mukani also leads McKinsey’s internal and external efforts on expanding diversity and inclusion, in particular on topics relating to improving racial equity and representation.

 

Mukani holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Dean is a graduate of Dalhousie University, and is an active member of several industry associations, including the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the Securities Transfer Association of Canada.

Sandy Noyes, CPIR

Sandy Noyes is a seasoned investor relations professional with over 20 years experience in capital markets and investor relations. Most recently, Sandy was the Director of Investor Relations at Detour Gold where she helped the company rebrand and successfully navigate the acquisition process of the company by Kirkland Lake Gold. Previously, Sandy worked at Troy Resources, a mid-tier gold company based in Australia with assets in South America.

Prior to transitioning her career to investor relations, Sandy worked at BMO Capital Markets in the Institutional Equity Sales and Trading group. Sandy earned her CPIR Designation through the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario in 2019. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Brock University.

Prior to joining Deloitte in early 2020, Ashley led high impact IR and ESG initiatives in energy and energy infrastructure comapnies for over a decade. Based in Calgary, Ashley is a leader in the investor relations profession and is a Certified Professional in Invetsor Relations (CPIR).

John Nunziati

John Nunziati is an Investor Relations Partner at Q4. Prior to joining Q4, John managed Corporate Relationships at IEX, the Investors Exchange. John has spent much of his career in investor relations, having previously led the IR function for Nimble Storage until their acquisition by HPE. Before joining Nimble, John led investor relations at Avaya, and was a member of the IR teams at Juniper Networks and Applied Materials.

John’s background also includes various business unit & corporate finance roles, and non-finance roles at Applied Materials, Raychem, and Intel. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA, both from Santa Clara University.

John has been active in NIRI since 1999, currently serving on the Virtual Chapter as President-Elect. He has previously been a Board member for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley chapters. He also contributed to the IR Certification Body of Knowledge Committee.

Sarah Regan is Head of Corporate Access for U.S. Equity at T. Rowe Price. In this role, Sarah is responsible for managing in-house Corporate Access solutions to positively impact the investment research process. Sarah oversees the origination of access to corporate management and the sector specialists who partner with the investment professionals to unearth opportunities around research and thematic event ideas. Our internal offering is responsible for building on and fostering new corporate relationships to best educate companies on T. Rowe’s global funds and ensure proper connectivity between the firm’s investors and the management teams they engage.

Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Sarah was Head of Consumer, Energy & Industrials Corporate Access at Cowen & Company and a Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch within the Corporate Access unit. Sarah also worked at Sloane & Company, a corporate communication, crisis management and investor relations firm based in New York, NY. She earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Simon Rose

Simon Rose is a 25-year Wall Street veteran. He co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Dahlman Rose & Company, an investment bank focused on transportation, commodities and infrastructure. Under his leadership, Dahlman Rose grew from 6 to 200 employees across five offices in the United States and Canada and expanded its research coverage from a single sector to over 20 discrete sectors focused around the theme of our natural resource economy and supply chain.

Simon advocated a collaborative and horizontally integrated approach to research coverage which has since been widely adopted. The firm executed over 75 securities offerings for public and private companies, raising in excess of $10 billion for its clients. Dahlman Rose & Company also acted as the sole advisor or co-advisor on numerous high-profile M&A transactions, including the largest public company acquisition in the history of the marine transportation sector. The firm was sold to Cowen Group, a publicly listed financial services firm, in April 2013.

Greg has created presentation materials for the Toronto Stock Exchange to educate executives of newly listed companies on the fundamentals of best practices IR. Walied Soliman is the Canadian Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright. He is also Co-Chair of our Canadian special situations team, which encompasses Canada's leading hostile and complex M&A, shareholder activism and complex reorganization transactions. He is widely regarded as one of the leading special situations practitioners in Canada. Over the past several years, Walied has been involved in almost every major proxy battle in Canada, acting for both issuers and activists. Tom Tran is the head of Investor Relations at Aimia Inc. (TSX: AIM), a data-driven marketing company that operates a loyalty solutions business for leading brands across many verticals globally, and owns minority interest in travel loyalty investments in Mexico and Asia.

Prior to joining Aimia, he was an equity research analyst at LUSIGHT Research (formerly a Goldman Sachs affiliate) – an independent provider of emerging markets research to institutional investors – primarily conducting fundamental analysis and pre-IPO evaluations for five years.

Sherry Wendt

Sherry Wendt leads Cenovus’s investor relations team and is responsible for stewarding Cenovus’s capital markets messaging and relationships with the investment community and shareholders.

Sherry has over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She joined Cenovus in 2015 and in addition to leading the investor relations team, has served as Associate General Counsel, Assistant Corporate Secretary and Director, Corporate Secretarial Legal. Prior to Cenovus, Sherry spent over seven years with Penn West Energy, serving as Corporate Secretary and Corporate Counsel. She started her career with Bennett Jones LLP where she focused on oil and gas (particularly A&D and joint ventures), banking and corporate law.

Sherry holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in actuarial mathematics from the University of Manitoba. She also holds a Chartered Secretary designation. In 2018, Sherry received a Lexpert Rising Stars Award, recognizing her as one of 40 leading lawyers under 40 in Canada.

Flora Wood

Flora Wood is currently Director, IR at Altius Minerals Corporation, and is a Board and Audit Committee member of two junior mining companies, Abraplata Resources and Treasury Metals. Flora has worked for over 25 years primarily with natural resource and steel industry companies ranging from micro cap to mid cap in size. She won an IR magazine Best IRO award in the Canadian mid cap category.

Through her work at Altius, she has been part of the strategic team that launched two new publicly traded companies, and has done a lot of work with new management and Board teams attempting to build first investor networks. Flora completed a graduate degree (MA) at University of Toronto prior to entering the financial services sector as a derivatives salesperson, and switched direction in the early 2000s.
