CIRI President's Message

Dear Member,

As 2018 winds down, we are taking stock of what we accomplished this year and I want to personally recognize the CIRI team and volunteers for their contributions. As always, we remain committed to creating the resources, professional development and networking opportunities that you need to excel in your investor relations career. In addition, we are keeping you apprised of regulatory issues affecting the field of IR and proactively advocating on your behalf to effect change.

In the fourth quarter, we focused on delivering high-quality professional development, hosting 16 events across Canada.

Since our last update, we:

  • Published IR focus on the evolution of the annual report;
  • Published IR leader with articles on long-termism; non-GAAP financial measures; and shareholder engagement;
  • Published top IR stories in wIRed
  • Hosted ten Chapter events across Canada; and
  • Hosted six National events across Canada.

Throughout the year, we have made tremendous progress on each of our six strategic imperatives: certification; integrated sponsorship; marketing; membership; organizational alignment; and technology. All of these initiatives are aimed at advancing the practice and the stature of the IR profession while improving our collaboration across the organization to benefit you – our members.

In 2019, we have some exciting plans to better facilitate member engagement and improve the accessibility of the many resources CIRI provides you.
