8:30 AM     Welcome Remarks

8:35 AM     The State of ESG in 2019

Global sustainable investment reached US$30.7T at the start of 2018, a 34% increase since 2016. North America alone accounts for 45% of these assets with US$13.7 AUM, a 40% increase since 2016. Not only are we seeing increased adoption of ESG in investment decision making, we are seeing evolving ESG investment strategies; the sell-side incorporating ESG into valuations and an increase in ESG-focussed investor marketing. Learn what’s changing in the ongoing evolution of ESG and how this paradigm shift is impacting issuers, investors and sell-side analysts.

Speaker: Dustyn Lanz, Chief Executive Officer, Responsible Investment Association (RIA)

9:05 AM     Overview of Key ESG Frameworks

There are numerous ESG reporting frameworks and it is often daunting for an issuer to determine which is most appropriate for their company. We will review the main frameworks including: Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SAB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP); their respective purpose; and why issuers and investors are using them. An update on the Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance and Corporate Reporting Dialogue will also be provided.
