BC: ESG Part 1 - Focusing on the G of ESG

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies, performance and reporting was a trending topic during 2020 and will only continue to increase in importance as companies grapple with the balance of running their business, managing costs, being a good corporate citizen and then reporting their performance on all of these metrics to stakeholder groups with wildly different interests and priorities.

While strong environmental and social performance has been expected of companies for decades, corporate governance has recently become a key focus for investors, and perceived governance inadequacies are frequently the cause of shareholder activist campaigns. In this CIRI BC event we’ll focus on the Governance side of ESG and why it matters to shareholders and stakeholders. We’ll hear from a CEO and an IRO about the importance of governance at the site, corporate and Board level and how they report governance strategies and performance to their shareholders and we’ll hear how investors and ISS evaluate governance practices and performance when making investment decisions.

This event is free for CIRI members; $25 for non-members.
